What You Need to Know About the CrossFit Games Open

The CrossFit Games season is about to get underway with just days until the Open kicks off.
The CrossFit Open is one of the largest online fitness competitions in the
world with hundreds of thousands of athletes taking part each year.

To compete at the 2019 Down Under CrossFit Championship, athletes must
qualify through the CrossFit Games Open.
For those wanting to take part in the DUC and compete to earn an invite to
the 2019 CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin, here’s what you need to
know about the Open:

What are the dates of the Open?
The 2019 CrossFit Games Open officially gets underway Thursday, Feb. 21
(PT). Just like previous years, the 2019 Open will host five workouts over five
weeks, with March 25 (PT) the closing day for the final workout.

How do I register to compete?
Registration for the 2019 CrossFit Games Open is Open and athletes can
register now. However, if an athletes hopes to
qualify for the DUC, then they will have to post valid scores for all five
workouts, meaning you must register before the close of Open Workout 19.1
on Monday, Feb. 25, at 5 p.m. (PT).

When do I find out the workout details for each week?
Just like previous years, CrossFit will be revealing the details for each workout
at Live Workout Announcement broadcasts, which will be streamed to
Games.CrossFit.com and on their social media pages. The workout
descriptions for each week are revealed on the day of each live
announcement, in the United States.

What are the dates for each Open workout?
Here are the dates for all five Open workouts:
 Week 1 – Thursday, Feb. 21st – Monday, Feb. 25th
 Week 2 – Thursday, Feb. 28th – Monday, Mar. 4th
 Week 3 – Thursday, Mar. 7th – Monday, Mar. 11th
 Week 4 – Thursday, Mar. 14h – Monday, Mar. 18th
 Week 5 – Thursday, Mar. 21st – Monday, Mar. 25 th

Do I have to complete each workout in a CrossFit Gym?
No. For your workout score to count, it can be completed in a CrossFit
affiliate. Judged and Validated from that affiliate.

However, if you do not have access to a judge, you can always film your workout and have it
assessed by online judges. This will require you to upload your own score and
footage of the workout.

How do I track my progress?
You can check the online leaderboard, which is updated regularly, at Games.CrossFit.com.

What else do I need to do to complete at the 2019 Down Under CrossFit
Championship?
Well, the first step is registering for the 2019 CrossFit Games Open and
completing the workouts.

But you will also need to do a few additional things
to be eligible to compete at the 2019 DUCC, such as film your Open workouts as per the standard required on the Games video submission.

Our Team will ask you for a random submission, taken from the CrossFit Open.

This Random video link will need to be submitted to complete your registration and make the athlete roster.
